Mainstream artists tend to be very open with their style of music, to be more generic to appeal to a wide audience, such as artist Justin Bieber, who's albums have changed and developed in order for him to gain the bigger following. Mainstream media also has a considerably bigger emphasis on the look of the individual, as highlighted by Andrew Goodwin. This is evident in solo artists such as Adele, Beyoncé , Justin Timberlake and so on. although some indie artists still follow this trend the newer generation of independent artists often don't even have a face behind the music, this would never have been possible without the internet and sites like sound cloud and YouTube, which allow artists to keep a sense of anonymity when they release songs. A perfect example of this is the indie artist EDEN/The Eden project, who remains faceless, not revealing his identity and posting only on YouTube and having one very distinctive style, reflected in this cover of Billie Jean. I noticed these trends have become significantly clearer the more research I have done into the difference in genres. With YouTube channels such as Mrsuicidesheep and Hyperbolt EDM being two examples of the hundreds of channels who bring different artists together and use a picture from another indie artist as a background for the song.

Although I have sourced inspiration for the 'style' of my video (i.e. the types of shots, mise en scene and more macro elements) from other similar music videos, as referred to previously in my blog, I have gained my ideal style of editing from a slightly different source. A 'Youtuber' called Casey Niestat has become more prominent on the YouTube scene for a couple of different reasons. He stands out from the typical 'vlogger' in that he uses a larger more professional camera rather than the standard point and shoot camera such as the Sony cyber-shot. This means that he increases the quality of every shot and this greatens the production value of his films. In addition he has a very distinctive style of editing which has gained him affinity on the YouTube scene. This style can be seen in his daily vlogs as well as his earlier work as a director, working on adverts for companies like Mercedes and a video which swept the internet before the YouTube era. Granted his videos are not specifically music videos, however they are very much in the style of one, even down to his daily vlogs which reflect a similar design.
Because I filmed at different times, i had to adjust certain parts of the video to make it look like the rain matched, seeing as i filmed at one stage in lighter rain and once in heavier rain, and so i slowed the footage of the heavier rain slightly by extending its running time and the opposite for the lighter rain and this made them look as if they matched or were filmed around the same time. After recording the scenes for which I planned in my story board and editing them together I felt like the timings were off so am adjusting the story board to reduce the lengths of certain elements, especially around the beginning where the music pacing is slow but shots still seemed to last too long, so I have changed some of the durations of the shots and the actual shots them selves, in addition to this I have adjusted the sequences around the chorus in order to make them more effective.
